How I work with engineering organizations
I take on a small number of engagements per year alongside my full-time role. The throughline is the same: predictable delivery in environments where governance, audit, and regulation are non-negotiable.
-
PMO Office Setup
- Outcome
- A governance framework that survives the first audit and the third quarterly review.
- For whom
- Engineering orgs scaling past ~50 people, or PMOs that have drifted into reporting theatre.
- Engagement shape
- 6–12 week engagement: intake redesign, prioritisation workflow, lightweight scorecard, KPIs that match the business model.
-
Agile & Kanban Transformation
- Outcome
- Scaled flow that holds up under regulation and audit, not slogans about "being Agile."
- For whom
- Teams of 5–80 engineers in banks, asset managers, trading firms, or insurance: anywhere the regulator owns part of your cadence.
- Engagement shape
- Hands-on coaching, system maps, queue-based metrics in Jira/Wrike, retros that drive change instead of decorating walls.
-
Executive Reporting & Governance Dashboards
- Outcome
- Reports executives actually read, because they map to decisions someone is about to make.
- For whom
- CTO/CIO orgs and architecture leadership drowning in status decks that no one is using to steer.
- Engagement shape
- Source-of-truth audit, dashboard rebuild (Jira / Wrike / Tableau / Power BI), AI-assisted prep, governance cadence rewrite.
-
Cross-Cultural Stakeholder Coaching
- Outcome
- Delivery leaders who can move work across regions, time zones, and regulators without losing the thread.
- For whom
- Senior PMs, Scrum Masters, and engineering managers operating across NY / Montréal / London / Mumbai / São Paulo.
- Engagement shape
- 1:1 coaching, working sessions, and stakeholder maps. Bilingual EN/FR; professional Spanish.
Frequently asked
- How does an engagement typically start?
- A short discovery call, then a paid scoping week. Most of the value comes from a clear-eyed read of where the organization actually is, not where the org chart says it is. After that we agree on a 6–12 week first chapter with measurable exit criteria.
- Do you work with regulated industries?
- Yes. That's where most of my experience lives. Tier-1 bank (Desjardins), proprietary trading firm (DRW), and bulge-bracket investment bank (Morgan Stanley). I've built governance and delivery models that satisfy internal architecture review boards, external auditors, and regulatory examiners.
- What outcomes can clients expect?
- Concrete: improved delivery predictability, fewer escalations, dashboards executives use to make decisions, lower coordination overhead, faster cycle times, and a documented operating model the org can run without me.
- What does pricing look like?
- Fixed-fee scoping engagements and milestone-based delivery work. I do not bill hourly. I share rates and structures after the discovery call once we know what shape the work needs to take.
